We are a registered 501c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping children of all ages with developmental disabilities learn to skate and play amateur level ice hockey.
Our Mission is to ensure that any child, regardless of age or ability, can experience the magic of gliding across the ice, the thrill of shooting a goal, the bond of being part of a team, and the mentorship of our experienced teenage ice hockey coaches. Lives of all kids - skater and coach - are forever bonded and changed.
We call this ... THE CHILL EFFECT.
Warm your heart and watch a message from Chill founder, Isaiah, and some of our junior hockey players:
We are a registered 501c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping children of all ages with developmental disabilities learn to skate and play amateur-level ice hockey.
Our team consists of dedicated volunteers with special skills in ice hockey, and in making sports available to everyone. Our on-ice coaches are high school hockey players, dedicated to bringing their sport to children who may not otherwise be included.
The San Diego Chill strives to create a community in which children with developmental disabilities feel safe, welcome, and able to discover new skills and talents.
Ice time is our biggest funding hurdle. The UTC Ice Rink generously provides us with discounted ice time, but this still requires a significant amount of funding each season. Although we have partnerships with some hockey gear companies, we always appreciate any and all help to ensure each one of our players is outfitted for their size and needs.
YOUR DONATIONS DIRECTLY HELP AWESOME KIDS EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF ICE SKATING, ICE HOCKEY, AND TEAM SPIRIT!
Come on out to the UTC Ice Rink and watch our CHILL program live!
